The Story Behind Danika’s Touch
Danika’s Touch is a home-based creative studio in Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida, specializing in handcrafted custom wreaths and decorative pieces. Every design is created by hand with careful attention to color, texture and detail, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that bring personality and warmth to homes, businesses and special occasions.
From coastal-inspired designs and seasonal favorites to sports wreaths, patriotic décor and personalized creations, every wreath begins with an idea and is thoughtfully made just for you.
From Cape Cod to Ormond-by-the-Sea
I was born and raised in Hyannis on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where I developed a love for creativity, hard work and helping others. In 1995, I found my way to Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida, and quickly realized I had found my own little piece of peace.
Before starting Danika’s Touch, my career was dedicated to helping people through disaster recovery and grant writing. I worked with communities recovering from hurricanes and other declared disasters throughout Volusia County, helping people rebuild after some of life’s most difficult moments.
When I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, I was forced to leave the career I loved. Like many people facing unexpected life changes, I found myself asking what came next and how I could continue making a positive difference.
The answer came through creativity.
Creating With Purpose
I’ve always enjoyed building things with my hands. Wreath making allowed me to combine creativity, craftsmanship and imagination into something that brings joy to others.
Every wreath starts with an idea, grows through thoughtful design and is finished with careful attention to every detail. The creative process has become more than just a business. It has become a source of peace, purpose and healing.
Knowing that something I create will welcome someone home, celebrate a season, become a meaningful gift or simply make someone smile is one of the greatest rewards I could ask for.
The Inspiration Behind Our Name
Danika’s Touch is named after my beloved Weimaraner, Danika Jane.
Danika was only five months old when I received my diagnosis in January 2021. During one of the most difficult seasons of my life, she gave me a reason to get out of bed every morning and reminded me that there was still joy to be found in each day.
Together we’ve beaten the odds.
These days, Danika is still my constant companion in the studio. She proudly serves as the “Resident Weimy,” supervising each project with an occasional wag of the little nib of her tail. Although, if we’re being honest, sometimes she’s just hoping for a cookie.
She is the heart behind the name and a daily reminder that hope can come in unexpected ways.
Handcrafted With Care
Every Danika’s Touch wreath is individually handcrafted and thoughtfully designed. Many decorative elements are hand painted, and specialty designs, including football and baseball wreaths, feature hand-applied glitter and custom finishes.
When you order a custom wreath, we start with a conversation. Share your favorite colors, your decorating style, your favorite sports team or even a photo that inspires you. I’ll work closely with you throughout the design process to create something that feels uniquely yours.
